Date day at Silver Dollar City

This was a much needed day to get away and enjoy each other. It was relaxing and I sure hope it's not too long before we get another day like it!

First ever slip-cover project!

I love it! She was a piece of work and took time and finesse getting her just right. She's not perfect but neither am I so I think we should be best friends.
I followed Miss Mustard Seed blog with her Ah.mayZ.ing video tutorials. She gave me the courage to jump in! I want to put some Velcro in a few spots and a tie or button in the back but otherwise she's ready to be enjoyed.

Posting from the iPhone and a post about a chair..

Standing in line for a show at Silver Dollar City and thought I'd try out the new Blogger App. Very cool and easy to use!
I found a $5 chair at my local thrift shop. I loved the lines and quality of the frame so I threw it in the truck and brought her home! First thing my hubby said? "What is this piece of junk for??" :-) well dear, I will show you! Eventually I'll do a detailed post on it but for now you just get pics of the progress.

Lakehouse

We were invited to stay at a lake house belonging to my sister-in-laws aunt. It was gorgeous! We had such a nice relaxing time and really enjoyed the family time we had there. The views were breathtaking and the patio chairs just screamed "I'm perfect for taking a nap on!!". We took Bee to Build-A-Bear for the first time and let her pick out some clothes for her bear. She hasn't put the clothes back on since so we may wait till she's a bit older before we do that again. Oh well...good time though!

Visit Home

We went back to TX for a visit at the end of July/early August. It was so good to have that time with family and friends! We made good memories and look forward to another visit soon! The pics below are the only ones I took the whole time we were there, but that just means we were having too much fun to stop and take pics. =)

Bee's first VBS!

We were invited to join our MO cousins at VBS at their church. Bee and I went every night and had so much fun! She was so excited about it every night and still asks to go back now a month later.

Goodbye Neko

We lost a part of our family on August 5th, 2011. Neko, despite how frustrated you could make me, you were a great dog and greatly loved. You were so good and loving with Bee and she adored you. You will be missed!
